Uncanny is a feeling of uncertainness, one which makes the viewer feel uneasy, but the reason is uncertain and unobtainable.
Travel is often associated with uncertainness. Often contingency plans must be created, and failing that, a world of awkwardness and confusion is opened up. Unplanned or under planned trips often create this, and it’s a feeling most people have experienced, but wouldn’t be able pin down exactly why.
Where do you go? What do you do there? Why are you going? How do you get there?
From an outside perspective it’s impossible to answer these questions, and so enquiring into this could continue ad nauseum.
Uncanny is often hard to distinguish between a feeling of creepiness. This is because creepiness is a part of uncanniness, but is separated by it’s inability to be resolved.
